Behind the Easel

Hi, I’m Tara, an artist living and working in Raleigh, North Carolina. I studied painting and portraiture at Ripon College in my home state of Wisconsin, where I developed a love for capturing personality, emotion, and life in every piece I create.

I went on to study Arts Management at American University in Washington, D.C., where I learned how to combine creativity with the practical skills needed to manage and promote my work.

Over the years, I’ve had the joy of bringing color and character to homes and businesses through custom murals, as well as creating meaningful pet and human portraits for clients. Whether it’s a large-scale wall transformation or an intimate, one-of-a-kind commission, my goal is to craft artwork that feels personal, vibrant, and alive.

From the first sketch to the final brushstroke, I put care, creativity, and heart into every project.
